Recently, the brothers of Colorado Alpha were proud to host our annual Safe Driving Week in honor of our late brother, Connor Thomson.
We kicked off Safe Driving Week on Tuesday with an Instagram Venmo campaign, followed by a doughnut sale on Wednesday, and wrapped up with dares for donations on Thursday. Each day, we tabled in front of our house and at Walgreens on the Hill, encouraging as many people as possible to sign our pledge to help end distracted driving. After a successful week, we are proud to have gathered over 1,200 signed pledges to end distracted driving and raised more than $6,500 for the Hunter Watson Foundation.
The week culminated in a fantastic family weekend in Boulder with our annual Honor Connor luncheon at the house on Sunday afternoon. At the luncheon, we were thrilled to announce the two recipients of this year’s Honor Connor Scholarship: Owen Shaw class of ’22, and Micah Zogaric, class of ’23.
The brothers of Colorado Alpha extend our deepest appreciation to David Thomson, our Chapter Advisor Scott Sliski, Hunter’s Fund, the philanthropy team— Tyler Rake ’23, Brady Marich ’23, and Mir Ahmed ’24—as well as our President Andrew Kearney ’22 and Vice President Kento Mita ’23 for making this week possible. We are so grateful to raise awareness for this cause each year and to carry on the legacy of Connor Thomson.
